Chicago, get in the habit and see The Nun early and for free
The Conjuring 2 got a lot of mileage out of its demonic nun, who was both very scary and very pious. And now New Line Cinema is following the lead it established with the Annabelle-centric Conjuring spin-offs by giving the nun her own prequel, Corin Hardy’s The Nun. We know the nun—who is actually a demon named Valak—gets banished to Hell by Lorraine Warren in The Conjuring 2, but since she’s still out and about in that movie, she’s probably going to come out of The Nun without taking a major loss. If you’d like to see a demon tear a path through a haunted monastery unchecked before your friends, The A.V. Club is giving readers in Chicago a chance to see The Nun early and for free.
The screening will be held at AMC River East on September 5, and all you have to do to get free passes is fill out your information at this link, grab the nearest crucifix, and hope that some unholy spirit doesn’t carry you away first. Just remember: Advance screenings are often intentionally overbooked, so be sure to arrive early if you want to secure a seat.
If you’d rather just sit back and let Valak win, The Nun will be in theaters on September 7.
