Chicago, hit the ice with I, Tonya for free

Margot Robbie and Allison Janney were both nominated for SAG awards for their performances in I,Tonya, Lars And The Real Girl director Craig Gillespie’s new movie dramatizing the rise and dramatic, sudden fall of Tonya Harding, whose hardscrabble background and athletic style scandalized the figure-skating world even before Harding, her husband Jeff Gillooly, and her bodyguard Shawn Eckhardt were accused of attacking her rival Nancy Kerrigan in one of the biggest scandals in Olympics history. The film has been praised for its biting black comedy and criticized as being too sympathetic to Harding, and we’ve got a chance for Chicago residents to make the call for themselves at an upcoming screening.

I, Tonya opened in New York and L.A. last weekend, and we’re hosting a screening of the film at the River East at 6:30 p.m. next Wednesday, December 20, in advance of its Chicago debut on December 22.
