Hey Chicago—much like a trip to the World Series for the Cubs, it’s been a while since The A.V. Club had a free comedy show. Okay, so it’s been nowhere near that long, but what do you want us to do? We’re pop-culture writers, not Bull Durham (we know, that’s just the name of the team). Anyway, we’re putting on another installment of the Bell Hop stand-up comedy show, presented by Ian Abramson, whom you might remember from (among other things) our 26th Annual Comedy Fest. The lineup includes Calvin Evans, The Onion and Clickhole’s Fran Hoepfner, Jeff Arcuri, Zach Peterson, Stephanie Weber, Katie Rife—yes, that Katie Rife—and more.
The free show is Saturday, August 13 at 9 p.m. and is 21+. So come on down to the Virgin Hotels Chicago at 203 North Wabash Ave., where you’ll ask to go up to the 25th floor to enjoy all the fine comedic stylings.
