Chicago, make an appointment with Doctor Sleep early and for free
When Doctor Sleep was first released as a novel in 2013, The A.V. Club was just one of a chorus of voices asking, “who needs a sequel to The Shining in the first place?” The answer to that question turned out to be Warner Bros., which hired Gerald’s Game director Mike Flanagan to try his luck with another King adaptation bringing the further adventures of little Danny Torrance—now all grown up and played by Ewan MacGregor—to the big screen.
If you’re a Stephen King fan burning with curiosity about Doctor Sleep—and you happen to live in Chicago—then we’ve got good news: We’re sponsoring an advance screening of the film on Tuesday, November 5 at 7:00 PM at the Arclight Chicago (1500 N. Clybourn Ave.) To enter to win a pair of tickets, just follow this link and fill in some basic information. Just remember to arrive early, as advance screenings are intentionally overbooked to ensure capacity.
