Chicago, make up your minds to see Split early and for free

M. Night Shyamalan’s followed up The Visit, his 2015 film that will make you dread visiting your grandparents, with a movie where the family gatherings occur entirely in one man’s head. Split is a psychological thriller starring James McAvoy in dozens of roles, in a sense—his character, Kevin, suffers from dissociative identity disorder. After catching it at Fantastic Fest, The A.V. Club deemed it the latest entry in Shyamalan’s “creative renaissance,” and commended McAvoy for biting into the “meaty role.”

Split hits theaters on January 20, but The A.V. Club is offering you a chance to meet all 24 of Kevin’s personalities early and for free. We’re giving away 40 pairs of tickets to a screening on January 17 at Chicago’s Kerasotes Showplace ICON theater. Just enter your information at this link. Remember: Advance screenings are often intentionally overbooked, so be sure to arrive early if you want to secure a seat.
