In Ingrid Goes West, Aubrey Plaza sets out to meet—and maybe terrorize—her idol, an Instagram-ready social influencer played by Elizabeth Olsen. Following a stay in a psychiatric facility, Ingrid heads for the Pacific, where she meets Taylor (Olsen), a lifestyle guru whose picture-perfect existence becomes Ingrid’s obsession. One dog abduction and rescue later, they become friends, but even though the setting might have changed, Ingrid hasn’t quite shaken whatever issues sent her to the hospital in the first place, or made her mace a bride. So we can safely assume the conflict won’t be resolved with some bikram yoga.
