Chicago, see Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck early and for free
We’ve got a sneaking suspicion that Amy Schumer’s Trainwreck will be anything but a disaster. Schumer is on quite the hot streak at the moment, so there’s a lot to look forward to with Trainwreck, both her first major film role and her first time writing a feature. Along for the ride is director Judd Apatow and a seriously eclectic cast, including everyone from Bill Hader to Tilda Swinton to Lebron James. Trainwreck opens in theaters everywhere on July 17, but The A.V. Club and Universal have an opportunity for you to see it for free on July 14. An official plot synopsis and trailer can be found below.
“Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin) has built a history of helping break distinctive new comedy voices into the mainstream, from Seth Rogen to Lena Dunham among many others. Apatow again brings a portrait of an unforgettable character, and a portrayal by a breakout new comedy star, together in Trainwreck, written by and starring Amy Schumer (Inside Amy Schumer) as a woman who lives her life without apologies, even when maybe she should apologize. The comedy, from a script written by Schumer, co-stars Bill Hader, Brie Larson, Colin Quinn, John Cena, Tilda Swinton and LeBron James. Apatow produces Trainwreck through his Apatow Productions alongside Barry Mendel (Bridesmaids, This Is 40).”
