Chicago, see Daniel Radcliffe in the romantic comedy What If early and for free
Daniel Radcliffe feels the magic, the magic of true love, in the new romantic comedy What If. The film follows Wallace (Radcliffe), a cynical young man who has all but given up on love after a string of bad relationships. It’s only after he decides to put his love life on hold that he meets Chantry (Zoe Kazan), a seemingly perfect woman for him, except she has a boyfriend. Wallace and Chantry quickly form a deep friendship, but soon begin to ponder the age-old question: Can men and woman really just be friends? The film hits theaters on August 8, but we at The A.V. Club have an opportunity for you to see an early screening August 4, here in Chicago. Simply follow the link here, and enter the RSVP code AVCLUB7CWU for a chance to receive event passes. Remember, seating is first come, first serve; so arrive early! A synopsis and trailer for the film can be found below.
“WHAT IF is the story of medical school dropout Wallace (Daniel Radcliffe), who’s been repeatedly burned by bad relationships. So while everyone around him, including his roommate Allan (Adam Driver), seems to be finding the perfect partner (Mackenzie Davis), Wallace decides to put his love life on hold. It is then that he meets Chantry (Zoe Kazan), an animator who lives with her longtime boyfriend Ben (Rafe Spall). Wallace and Chantry form an instant connection, striking up a close friendship. Still, there is no denying the chemistry between them, leading the pair to wonder, what if the love of your life is actually your best friend? The ensemble romantic comedy costars Megan Park and Oona Chaplin.”
