Chicago, see Don’t Breathe early and for free
After receiving the blessing of Evil Dead creator Sam Raimi for his ultra-bloody 2013 remake of the ultimate experience in grueling terror, Uruguayan-born horror director Fede Alvarez is striking out into original storytelling in his new movie, Don’t Breathe. Starring veteran actor Stephen Lang (Manhunter, Avatar) as a blind man targeted by three teenagers for a robbery that goes way, way wrong, Don’t Breathe is being hailed as one of the strongest and most suspenseful horror films to come around in years.
Don’t Breathe opens in theaters on August 26, but The A.V. Club is giving Chicagoans the opportunity to see this nerve-rattler early on Tuesday, August 23 at AMC River East.
