Chicago, see Olivier Assayas’ Clouds Of Sils Maria early and for free
Clouds Of Sils Maria, which debuted at Cannes last year, is finally getting its stateside premiere this month. The film comes from acclaimed director Olivier Assayas and stars Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart, and Chloë Grace Moretz as three women at very different points in their showbiz careers. The performances have garnered a lot of positive attention, particularly Stewart’s role as a personal assistant, which won her a Cesar Award earlier this year (she’s the first American actress to do so). Clouds Of Sils Maria opens in Chicago on April 17, but The A.V. Club has an opportunity for you to see it for free on April 13. For your chance to win a pair of passes to the advance screening, simply follow the link here and enter your information. As always, seats are first come, first served, so you’ll want to make sure you can arrive early. An official plot synopsis and trailer can be found below.
“When she’s cast as the older lover in a romantic lesbian drama opposite an upstart young starlet (Moretz), an established middle-aged actress (Binoche) is overcome with personal insecurities and professional jealousies—all while sexual tension simmers between her and her personal assistant (Stewart). A bewitching tale of backstage rivalry, Clouds Of Sils Maria is propelled by tour-de-force performances from three actresses at the top of their game.”
