Chicago, see Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway in The Intern early and for free
Anne Hathaway may be losing roles to 24-year-olds, but Robert De Niro, now 72, seems to be doing just fine, snagging parts typically tailor-made for twentysomethings. The latest comedy from It’s Complicated director Nancy Meyers finds De Niro playing Ben Whittaker, a retiree who ends up interning for a hip online fashion publication to kill some time. Hathaway plays his media-savvy boss, heading up a young staff that includes Andrew Rannells, Adam DeVine, and Nat Wolff. This is a shot in the dark, but something suggests Ben Whittaker won’t be the only employee learning a thing or two during his internship. The Intern opens nationwide on September 25, but The A.V. Club and Warner Bros. Pictures have an opportunity for you to see it early and for free. For your chance to win a pair of tickets to the advance screening, simply follow the link here and enter your information. As always, seats will be first come, first served, so be sure to arrive early. A brief plot synopsis and trailer for the film can be found below.
“In The Intern, Ben Whittaker (Robert De Niro) is a 70-year-old widower who has discovered that retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Seizing an opportunity to get back in the game, he becomes a senior intern at an online fashion site, founded and run by Jules Ostin (Anne Hathaway).”
