Now that Skyfall has set the bar for Bond sky-high, all eyes are on Spectre, the 24th official entry in the 007 franchise, and the second consecutive film from director Sam Mendes. Whether he likes it, Daniel Craig is back, too, putting his signature brand of wounded steeliness on display in another caper that promises to dig up Bond’s dark past. While a government official (Sherlock’s Andrew Scott) tightens the leash on MI6 in London, Bond goes on a rogue personal mission, crossing paths with an old enemy (Casino Royale’s Jesper Christensen), his headstrong daughter (Blue Is The Warmest Color’s Léa Seydoux), and a mysterious organization known as Spectre. And, in a casting coup that’s almost too perfect, Christoph Waltz plays Franz Oberhauser, the secretive head of Spectre who is sure to give any hardcore 007 fan some serious Blofeld vibes. Spectre opens nationwide on November 6, but The A.V. Club and MGM Pictures have an opportunity for you to see it for free on November 4.
