Chicago, see Tom Hardy (and Tom Hardy) play gangster twins in Legend early and for free

While you’d be hard-pressed to find someone complaining about too much Tom Hardy, writer-director Brian Helgeland will put that to the test with Legend, which sees Hardy playing real-life identical twins Ronald and Reggie Kray. Telling the story of the notorious British thugs through the eyes of the woman who loved one of them (Emily Browning as Frances Shea), Legend has a lot of fun sparring the actor against himself. The cast gets rounded out by other heavy-hitters like Christopher Eccleston, Chazz Palminteri, and Kingsman’s Taron Egerton.

Though the biopic has already been rolled out overseas (with some cheeky marketing), the heaping double-serving of Hardy is making its way stateside just in time for Thanksgiving. Legend opens in Chicago theaters on November 25, but The A.V. Club and Universal have an opportunity for you to see it for free on November 24. An official plot synopsis and trailer for the film can be found below.

From Academy Award winner Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential, Mystic River) comes the true story of the rise and fall of London’s most notorious gangsters, Reggie and Ron Kray, both portrayed by Tom Hardy in an amazing double performance. Legend is a classic crime thriller taking us into the secret history of the 1960s and the extraordinary events that secured the infamy of the Kray twins.
