Chicago, skip the drive-thru and see The Founder early and for free
John Lee Hancock’s The Founder is all about how a businessman named Ray Kroc (played by Michael Keaton) convinced the brothers who founded McDonald’s to allow him to franchise the restaurant while he essentially stole it right from under them (and became outrageously wealthy in the process). You don’t have to screw over any hamburger-making brothers to see The Founder early and for free, though, you just have to live in Chicago—which, coincidentally, isn’t too far from Des Plaines, Illinois, home of Kroc’s first McDonald’s franchise.
The A.V. Club is giving a few lucky readers a chance to attend an early The Founder screening at Chicago’s Landmark Century Cinema on January 17, and all you need to do to get passes is enter your information at this link. Remember: Advance screenings are often intentionally overbooked, so be sure to arrive early if you want to secure a seat.
For fast-food aficionados who prefer to wait, The Founder will be in theaters on January 20. You can see a trailer for the film below.
