We’ve been living in the kind of high-tech future that ’80s movies warned us about for while now, and since this is all becoming increasingly horrifying, there’s no better way to celebrate our ridiculous modern world than by partaking in a screening of the 1990 techno-horror classic Hardware—a film that mirrors our reality in a lot of scary ways, assuming you’re extremely paranoid about government-sanctioned robot assassins.
Chicago’s Music Box theater (in association with the Chicago Film Society and Odd Obsession Movies) is screening director Richard Stanley’s personal 35mm print of Hardware this week on February 10 and 11 at midnight, and we’re offering two pairs of free tickets to a couple of lucky readers.
