Chicago, win tickets to see a special premiere screening of horror movie The Boy

Horror movies often try to frighten audiences with fantastical creatures and age-old demons, but, sometimes, it’s the simplest things the can be the scariest. Do you see that doll in the header image? Terrifying. Meet Brahms, the porcelain-skinned star of this month’s The Boy, also starring The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan. Though Brahms looks freaky enough as-is, he’s actually possessed by a ghost who gets very cranky when not properly taken care of. That’s the basic gist of The Boy, which hits theaters on January 22, but opens a few days early for horror buffs who can get their hands on tickets for the special “Fan Experience” on January 20. The event will feature pre-show activities, raffles, free movie swag, and a live stream of the Los Angeles premiere, featuring a Q&A with Lauren Cohan. Tickets and more information can be found here.

“Greta (Lauren Cohan) is a young American woman who takes a job as a nanny in a remote English village, only to discover that the family’s 8-year-old is a life-sized doll that the parents care for just like a real boy, as a way to cope with the death of their actual son 20 years prior. After violating a list of strict rules, a series of disturbing and inexplicable events bring Greta’s worst nightmare to life, leading her to believe that the doll is actually alive.”
