Chicago, win tickets to see emo godfather Jeremy Enigk

Gather ‘round, kids, and let me tell you about a time when the most important band in the world was a four-piece from Seattle that wouldn’t do any interviews or take press photos, and whose mesmerizing music resulted in just two albums before things imploded. That band: Sunny Day Real Estate, circa 1992-1995. They would later reunite and make some more worthwhile music, but between the implosion and the rebirth, singer-guitarist Jeremy Enigk released the phenomenal orch-pop album Return Of The Frog Queen. (Two of his bandmates went on to be the rhythm section of a little band called Foo Fighters.) Enigk has been in and out of the public eye since, releasing the occasional record—though very rarely on tour. Next month, he’s taking his solo act on the road for the first time in a while, and we’ve got two pairs of tickets to see him perform at Chicago’s Old Town School Of Folk Music on April 17. Just send an e-mail right here with “JEREMY” as the subject line, and we’ll pick our winners a few days before the show. See you there.
