Chris Cornell’s family has commissioned a statue of him to be placed in Seattle

As reported by The Seattle Times (via Rolling Stone), Chris Cornell’s family has commissioned sculptor Wayne Toth to make a statue of Cornell that can be erected somewhere in his hometown of Seattle. Toth was the artist behind the statue of Johnny Ramone that’s at his grave in Los Angeles’ Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and he has reportedly already shown Cornell’s family an early design and they “love it.” The statue will take about seven months, and the family is currently working with Seattle to find a suitable location where it can reside.

Cornell’s widow, Vicky Cornell, said she’s hoping to get some suggestions from his fans about where to put the statue. “He is Seattle’s son,” she said, “and we will be bringing him home and honoring him.”
