Chrissie Hynde is writing a tell-all book of her own
Hot on the heels of Kim Gordon’s Girl In A Band, The Pretenders’ Chrissie Hynde has announced a tell-all book of her own. Page Six says the book will detail Hynde’s childhood in then-thriving Akron, “offer a ‘strikingly intimate portrayal’ of the punk rock scene of the 1970s and a ‘bittersweet’ look back at the Pretenders, who had such hits as ‘Brass In Pocket’ and ‘Talk Of The Town,’ but lost two original members to drug-related deaths.” Hopefully it will elaborate on other aspects of Hynde’s life, like her presence at the 1970 Kent State shootings, her green card-inspired almost-marriage to Sid Vicious, and her actual marriage to Kinks member Ray Davies.
The book is currently untitled, but is due out September 8.
