Christina Ricci parties and rages in the trailer for Z: The Beginning Of Everything

Amazon—having recently gotten rid of one drama about under-appreciated women—is gearing up for its next. The first trailer for Z: The Beginning Of Everything finds Christina Ricci in the role of Zelda Fitzgerald. The footage makes it look like a fairly traditional biopic. Zelda Sayre has a booze-fueled meet-cute with F. Scott Fitzgerald, they get married, and then their relationship turns sour. Ricci has the benefit of being first to unleash her Zelda on the world, as both Jennifer Lawrence and Scarlett Johansson have projects about her in the pipeline.

Meanwhile, this trailer comes as Amazon is facing criticism for its cancellation of Good Girls Revolt, another period piece focused on the lesser-told female stories of history. Z: The Beginning Of Everything drops January 27.
