Christopher Owens, songwriter and vocalist of Girls, quits the group
Christopher Owens, the main songwriter and vocalist of the group Girls, has suddenly quit the band. Owens announced via Twitter today that his reasons are personal, but that he needs to leave “in order to progress.” He does say he will continue to write and record music. It’s as yet unclear as to whether JR White, the bassist and producer in the group, will attempt to keep band business going under the Girls name.
Girls’ latest record, Father, Son, Holy Ghost, was released in 2011 and made a lot of critics’ best-of lists at the end of the year.
