Syfy has ordered a new series from Chuck co-creator/showrunner Chris Fedak. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fedak is developing a thriller called The Woods with writer Liz Phang (The CW’s 90210). The show follows a young woman who revisits a mysterious mansion where her sister disappeared years ago. Once there, she discovers that the “sinister beings” responsible for her sister's kidnapping are still hanging around. Presumably bad and creepy things happen—although, given the pedigrees of the show’s creators, it’s equally likely the woman engages in some witty banter and/or sexy poolside time with the evil spirits. Elsewhere, Fedak has been keeping busy developing a “mystery organ donor drama” at NBC (which sounds like it would also make a great Syfy show) as well as an adaptation of Midnighters for Fox.
