Coachella’s done the proactive thing and, after learning its website was hacked, sent an email out to users informing them of the incident. The festival’s organizers, AEG Live, confirmed to Pitchfork that the following message was sent to subscribers, reassuring them that while the hack occurred, no password info was taken:
“We recently discovered that unauthorized third parties illegally gained access to the usernames, first and last names, shipping addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and dates of birth individuals provided to Coachella. We have confirmed that no user passwords were stolen.”
AEG Live’s statement to Pitchfork also says that “no financial information was accessed” in the hack either, but reminds users to stay vigilant about phishing scams. Pitchfork notes a Motherboard article from last week, which reportedly found that people are selling Coachella customer info on the dark web. AEG Live didn’t comment on that post.
