In the realm of backstage rock ‘n’ roll debauchery, drug use is typically an accepted part of the norm—unless armed robbery is involved. Micheal Todd of the prog-rock band Coheed And Cambria learned this lesson the hard way on Sunday, when he was arrested at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, Mass. and charged with robbing a Walgreens store for six bottles of Oxycontin earlier that day. The police allege that Todd, who plays bass for the band and has struggled with heroin addiction in the past, showed the pharmacists a note on his phone that claimed he had a bomb. After he took the drugs, he hopped a cab to the arena, where Coheed And Cambria were opening for Soundgarden. The band ended up playing the show without him. According to Coheed And Cambria’s Facebook page, Todd has been replaced by a new bassist for the remainder of the tour and the band “will address the situation with Michael after the tour.”
