We've mentioned the bluster resulting from Stephen Colbert's and the Decemberists' rival green-screen challenges, and earlier this week, it was announced that it will culminate on the Dec. 20 episode of The Colbert Report with a guitar duel between Colbert and Decemberist Chris Funk. Colbert previously strummed along with Neil Young for a few seconds. Funk is credited with playing guitar, dulcimer, bouzouki, pedal-steel guitar, banjo, hurdygurdy, and some percussion on the Decemberists' 2006 album The Crane Wife, so flattening Colbert's candy-cane ass with awesomeness will probably just be another warm-up exercise for him.
