Colin Farrell may join Steve McQueen’s Widows
The cast for Steve McQueen’s upcoming Widows is already an exciting mix of established stars like Viola Davis and acclaimed up-and-comers like Tony-winner Cynthia Erivo. And now it seems it may be adding yet another intriguing player to its already stacked cast, which includes Liam Neeson, Michelle Rodriguez, and Andre Holland. Variety reports that Colin Farrell is ”in negotiations” for the film, which is being written by Gillian Flynn, about a group of women who take over their dead husbands’ thievery operation. If it all works out, Farrell will take on the role of a “politician that finds himself mixed up in the widows’ plans” in the adaptation of a British TV series. Farrell’s a busy dude these days, and, according to Variety, he was only able to find time for Widows once production on the Disney live-action remake of Dumbo was delayed by a month.
