According to Variety, director Colin Trevorrow’s The Book Of Henry has been delayed almost an entire year, from September 16, 2016, to June 16, 2017. Though the film has reportedly been “testing well,” the hope is apparently that the new release date will give the film—which is described as “adult-oriented fare”—a little bit more time to breathe among the superhero garbage and talking animal bullshit that usually dominates the summer box office.
The Variety story also explains that The Book Of Henry is about “a single mother raising a child prodigy,” which is pretty vague, but it’s also way more information than we had previously gotten about the film. However, it contradicts an official confirmation from Trevorrow himself on Twitter that the movie would be about lizard people, so we’re not sure what to believe here. Granted, the single mother could be a lizard person, but that’s looking increasingly unlikely.
Whether they’re lizards or not, The Book Of Henry will star Jacob Tremblay (the kid from Room), Jaeden Liberher (the kid from Midnight Special), Sarah Silverman (the voice of a kid from Bob’s Burgers), Lee Pace (who was probably a kid at one time), and Dean Norris (who was never a kid, but emerged as a fully formed bald man).
