Colony House is sometimes described as “The Killers meet Phoenix,” but the Nashville band might be a little more like Kings Of Leon. Framed around frontman Caleb Chapman, brother/drummer Will, and Scott Mills on guitar, Colony House makes polarizing rock that aims to explore both the dark and light sides of society. That’s a little vague, so interested parties should check out the band’s new single, “Silhouettes,” below. It’s from When I Was Younger, the group’s debut LP, which hits stores July 22. According to brother Caleb, “Silhouettes is a steady reminder not to allow the dark moments in life to overshadow all the beautiful ones.” Flowers and cold, cold alcohol also solidly help that aim—or at least that’s The A.V. Club’s experience.
