Come get some more: Starz snags a third season of Ash Vs. Evil Dead
Speaking at the show’s panel at New York Comic-Con yesterday, Ash Vs. Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell expressed his hope that the series would run for five full seasons of blood-drenched, Stooges-inspired horror. Today, Campbell got a little closer to that gory dream, with Deadline reporting that Starz has renewed the show for a third season, just a couple of days after its well-received second-season premiere.
Centered, as ever, on Ash Williams, Campbell’s shotgun-toting, slapstick-prone warrior against the dark, the show’s second season sees him returning to his hometown, accompanied by sidekicks Pablo (Ray Santiago) and Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo). There, he teams back up with his family, played by Ted Raimi and Lee Majors, for what we can only assume will be further intersections of bodily fluids, chainsaw limbs, and a series of smart-ass quips. The renewal presumably comes on the strength of the show’s second season premiere, which aired last Sunday and offered up some strong ratings, topping the show’s debut back on Halloween 2015 by 14 percent.
