Comedian Ali Wong flocks to the Birds Of Prey movie
Warner Bros.’ upcoming Margot Robbie vehicle Birds Of Prey continues to add some fun names to its roster of superheroic performers this week, with The Wrap reporting that stand-up comic and Netflix darling Ali Wong has been added to its cast of Gotham-based superheroines.
Sadly, Wong won’t be playing a character called Baby Cobra, which feels like it would really fit into the world of The Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn. Instead, she’ll be playing fan-favorite character Renee Montoya, a hard-drinking Gotham detective whose career highlights include becoming faceless vigilante The Question, and getting into a long-term relationship with Batwoman Kate Kane.
Wong’s previous acting credits include a role in the recent Wreck-It Ralph 2, plus one of the title parts in Netflix’s upcoming Tuca & Bertie. She’s best known, probably, for her stand-up work, though, which has been featured in two high-profile specials, Baby Cobra and Hard Knock Wife.
