Comedian Matt Braunger tries to tell our fake Netflix categories from real ones
Stand-up comedian Matt Braunger settles into the Pick A Choice warm seat for today’s episode. Braunger’s latest comedy special, Big Dumb Animal, was just released on Netflix, and he hoped to promote that project on The A.V. Club’s best and only and best game show—but before we’d allow him that privilege, he had to prove that he could tell actual Netflix categories from dumb ones that we made up. Watch the video to see how he fared.
Also, I realize that the sound is not great in this episode, because our audio person screwed up. Apologies for that, and rest assured that the employee responsible has been sent to our Atonement & Reprogramming Center, in which errant staffers are forced to watch Rolf Benirschke episodes of Wheel Of Fortune until we feel they are ready to meet Pick A Choice’s lofty standards of quality.
For those viewers who are new to the program, here are the rules: In each round, our guest draws two cards from a deck filled with famous names (both real and fictional) and one card from a deck of scenarios. Then it’s time for the guest to decide who they’d rather pick in the given scenario. For instance, would Dionne Warwick or ALF be a better choice to share a houseboat with you?
