Comedy Central finally gives Hannibal Buress his own show

After years of attempts that left him on the sidelines, watching as other, less funny Hannibals got their own shows, Hannibal Buress is at last headlining a series for Comedy Central. The network has picked up eight episodes of Why? With Hannibal Buress, in which the comedian will look at “major cultural issues through stand-up, filmed segments, man-on-the-street interviews, and interviews with in-studio guests,” all while answering the titular question, “Why with Hannibal Buress?” (Answer: Because he’s earned it.) Of course, Buress already has a Comedy Central gig as a regular on Broad City, but it sounds like this new show—set to premiere in July, and tape the same week it airs—won’t interfere with that. But that’s really more of a When? With Hannibal Buress question.
