Comedy Central is also going live on Election Night

If unintentional comedy is not your thing, then you might be looking to an alternative to the election night coverage being offered by the major news outlets. Comedy Central might actually be your best option for that bleak Tuesday evening. The basic cable network will broadcast a live hour-long telecast of The Daily Show With Trevor Noah at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT, in which the show’s regular host and correspondents will respond in real time to the unthinkable fate concurrently befalling the nation.

Assuming the union has not yet been consumed in a squall of fire and gore before the hour is up, The Daily Show will be followed by a special live edition of @Midnight With Chris Hardwick, featuring panelists Paul F. Tompkins, Whitney Cummings, and Ron Funches on hand to make light of the horrors unfolding around them. In the lead-up to all this, Comedy Central will air election-themed episodes of Tosh.0 and Drunk History at 10 and 10:30 EST respectively. Will any of this be funnier than watching Corey Lewandowski rampage through the CNN studios? Hard to say. But it will probably be less depressing.
