Comedy Central renews The Meltdown With Jonah And Kumail for third season
It’s been a great year for stand-up comedy fans, what with the new John Mulaney special, the new Tig Notaro special, and Ben Carson’s presidential campaign. And now, showing the kind of foresight only demonstrated by cable channels with solidly performing shows, Deadline reports Comedy Central has renewed The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail for a third season.
Hosted by Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani, the series takes you both in front of and behind the stage at the Nerdist Showroom in Meltdown Comics, as comedians like Andy Daly and Lauren Lapkus test out new material, shoot the shit in the green room, and generally seem to live lives of high entertainment value and charmed friendships. Truly, it’s a show that makes you sit back, take stock of your own life, and wonder where it all went wrong. The next season will air in 2016 and consist of eight episodes—and it better not interfere with Ray’s expected duties as host of a new Mystery Science Theater 3000, let alone Nanjiani’s Silicon Valley responsibilities.
