Comedy Central has announced that it’s ordered another season of Another Period, Riki Lindhome and Natasha Leggero’s hilarious, debaucherous parody. The second season premiere is still a couple of weeks out, but the cable network has just shared the news of its renewal, as well as a teaser that confirms the Bellacourts will be partying like it’s 1899.
Lindhome and Leggero thanked Comedy Central for “this continued opportunity to dress like queens and act like assholes” in their characters’ quest for fame. After all, Lillian and Beatrice already have the fortune thing covered, as they helpfully tell the paparazzi (daguerretographers?) that they’ve already gone to the trouble of inheriting their wealth. Season two will see Newport’s most prominent and perverted citizens rubbing elbows with Albert Einstein, Harriet Tubman, as well as Teddy and Eleanor Roosevelt.
Another Period returns June 15, and Comedy Central will rerun the first season beginning June 8. The network and show are also extending an offer to dine with the Bellacourts via a 360° virtual-reality experience through their Facebook pages on June 14.
