Comedy Central wants more Trump, or at least more of The President Show

According to Deadline, Comedy Central has just ordered seven additional episodes of its Donald Trump-skewering talk show parody The President Show, bringing its first season from eight episodes to 15. Comedy Central will have to bump The President Show to a different time slot if it goes any longer than that, though, as the network has already granted its current spot to Jordan Klepper’s Daily Show spin-off. Since The President Show airs weekly, Deadline figures it would most likely be moved to primetime.

The series stars Anthony Atamanuik as Donald Trump, and though it may seem like The President Show is just based on Atamanuik’s excellent Trump impression, it actually goes a bit deeper and explores the real Trump’s darkness and madness. If you somehow don’t have enough Trump on your TV already, The President Show will now air Thursday nights on Comedy Central through Labor Day.
