Comedy Fest update; win Joe Mande tickets

Hello everyone, specifically those people who live in Chicago or who are visiting at the moment. Our comedy festival—the second annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival—is in full swing, with some fantastic events already under our belts, including last night’s awesome UHF screenings and a killer hour from Kyle Kinane. (He shaved his beard!)

But there’s even more to come, friends. We just released a tiny handful of tickets for tonight’s show with Eric Andre (at Thalia Hall), though 7 Minutes In Purgatory (at the Hideout) is sold out. Some tickets remain for The Upperclassmen, a showcase of local comics that might very well be headlining next year, and for Vanessa Bayer at Thalia Hall tomorrow night, too.

There are also some RSVP slots remaining for the kinda-secret (not all that secret) aftershow events at the Virgin Hotel; tonight, Eric Andre will be showing up there after his Thalia show, and tomorrow, Jen Kirkman will be there with musical guest Jenn Wasner of Wye Oak. Then Ms. Wasner will return on Saturday to open for Superchunk’s Mac McCaughan. All of those shows are free, but space is very limited.

And man, there’s more. You can’t go to John Mulaney or Ellie Kemper if you don’t already have a ticket, but there are a few remaining spots for Joe Mande at the Hideout on Saturday. You may know him as the guy who eloquently hates Macklemore, or as the guy behind the hilarious stand-up record Bitchface, or as a Parks And Recreation writer. Hey, let’s give away a pair of tickets to see him, shall we? You read this far, you’ve earned a shot at glory. Just send an e-mail right here with MANDE in the subject line, and we’ll pick a winner tomorrow. See you soon?
