Comic-Con news: Lost, Watchmen, Star Trek
The annual San Diego Comic-Con has become the place for TV and movie creators to confirm rumors and hand-feed hype to the fanboys and fangirls of America. This year is no different–yesterday at the Con it was officially announced that:
-Actor Harold Perrineau will be returning to Lost in Season 4 after his character Michael betrayed his fellow castaways and escaped the island at the end of Season 2.
-The Lost video game will finally be hitting home systems soon.
-The hotly debated screen adaptation of Alan Moore's epochal superhero graphic novel Watchmen–directed by 300's Zack Snyder–has found its six leads: Billy Crudup as Dr. Manhattan, Patrick Wilson as Nite Owl, Malin Akerman as The Silk Spectre, Matthew Goode as Ozymandias, Jeffrey Dean Morgan as The Comedian, and in a particularly inspired move, creepy comeback kid Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach.
-And to bring it all full circle: Lost co-creator J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Trek–a big-screen prequel to the original '60s series–has signed Zachary "Sylar" Quinto of Heroes to play the young Mr. Spock.
