Comics artist Dave Cockrum, best known for his work on The Uncanny X-Men and Legion Of Superheroes has died at the age of 63 from diabetes-related complications. Cockrum could draw panels with the best of them but he's probably best known for his character designs, revamping the Legion characters in the early-'70s then drawing the early years of the revived X-Men in the mid-'70s. Characters such as Storm, Colossus, and Nightcrawler all owe their iconic appearance to Cockrum.
