When Conan O’Brien settled in for an installment of “Clueless Gamer” alongside Elijah Wood he began by cracking some expected Lord Of The Rings jokes. But the proceedings took a turn for the nasty and hilarious as the two played Final Fantasy XV and became ultimately bored and befuddled. “I’ve never been this confused by a game in my life,” O’Brien sputtered. “And this is really saying something.”
The plot of the latest Final Fantasy isn’t really important for the purposes of viewing this clip, and, to be honest, it doesn’t seem to be engaging whatsoever. What’s far more entertaining is watching O’Brien have a veritable meltdown as he tries to figure out what’s going on. “This is a video game as written by James Joyce,” he quipped. His ultimate review was savage: “This whole thing is like an epic blue balls waste of time.” Still, be sure to stay tuned until the tail end when O’Brien actually has to come face to face with the creators—and remains merciless. It’s cruel, but maybe necessary.
