Conan O’Brien to host this year’s Nobel Prize concert
Bringing together the foremost minds in the field of the arts, diplomacy, and sciences with the man who introduced The Slipnutz and FedEx Pope to the world, the organizers of the Nobel Peace Prize Concert have announced that Conan O’Brien will be hosting their annual event. The Concert—held this year in honor of just-named Peace Prize laureate Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos—will happen in Oslo, Norway on December 11.
“Conan is a perfect host,” said event producers Odd Arvid Strømstad and Kristian Kirkvåg. “His 10,000 hours of practicing the freedom of speech fits our main mission; to amplify the most prestigious award in the world.” For his own part, O’Brien was humble in the face of his lofty new gig: ““It’s an honor to host this prestigious event,” he said in a press release, adding, “And an even greater honor to receive the Nobel Prize in Particle Physics. I have a very good agent.”
For the second year running, the concert will be streamed live on YouTube. Badlands breakout Halsey and Norwegian indie rockers Highasakite are both set to perform, with more acts announced as the concert’s date gets closer.
