Conan O'Brien: Coming soon to daytime TV?
Conan in pre-primetime? It could happen. According to Reuters, O'Brien has been offered an afternoon show by syndicator Debmar-Mercury, one that would potentially run somewhere between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. The company says the earlier time slot would give O'Brien greater leeway with edgier material (Dunbar-Mercury also syndicates mostly unedited episodes of South Park in that slot). O'Brien is reported to be "intrigued" by the idea. While he mulls that over, he's still in talks with Fox about a late-night program, not to mention gearing up for his Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On TV tour—which might be turned into a feature-length documentary, assuming talks with filmmaker Rodman Flender pan out.
