Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott finally return to American Horror Story
For its upcoming eighth season, American Horror Story is trying out something weird by combining its best season (Murder House) and its worst season (Coven) into a crossover called Apocalypse. We’ve already seen the Coven gang getting back together with their old pal Stevie Nicks, and now The Wrap says that Murder House residents Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott will be reuniting for Apocalypse as well. McDermott appeared in the show’s second season as an unrelated character, but this will be the first time Britton has returned to the American Horror Story series since season one ended in 2011.
Apocalypse will apparently act as a direct sequel to Murder House, which centered on a family that moved into a haunted house and had to deal with various ghosts. By the end of the season, Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott’s characters died, joining the rest of the ghosts in the house, but not before Britton’s character gave birth to a demon baby that was taken by their neighbor—played by Jessica Lange, who is also returning—so he could grow up to be the antichrist.
American Horror Story: Apocalypse will premiere on FX on September 12.
