Connie Britton will also star on ABC's Nashville
Confirming that she’s been officially cut loose from American Horror Story, Connie Britton has landed one of the leads in ABC’s Nashville pilot, the previously reported show that will remind everyone that Hayden Panettiere also has a singing career through weekly synergistic exposure. Britton will play the fading veteran country star forced by her record label to tour with Panettiere’s teen idol, with their contentious relationship just one of many dramatic entanglements taking place against the backdrop of the Nashville music scene. In a way the show’s many intertwining stories of soap opera duplicity aren’t completely different than American Horror Story, although in this one Britton seems far less likely to be raped by rubber men, and it will once again give her ample opportunity to trot out her famous Friday Night Lights “y’all.”
