Corey Taylor drags KFC into the Nickelback-Slipknot feud
Like some sort of malignant nu-metal tumor, slowly metastasizing out of the past to consume the helpless present, the ongoing fight between Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor dragged another victim into its grip today. Having already declared that Kroeger—who started this rapidly rotting beef by accusing Taylor’s side-project Stone Sour of being “Nickelback-Lite”—has “a face like a foot,” the Slipknot singer has now doubled down on his comments by name-checking the home of the Double Down, telling a recent interviewer that “Chad Kroeger is what KFC is to chicken.”
We’re not sure what the fast food fried chicken chain did to get drawn into this war of angrily sing-grunted words, but Taylor’s apparently not a fan. “I’ll still eat it, but I’m not gonna feel good about it,” he told radio station KISW, apparently missing the fact that “feeling good afterwards” is not why people eat at KFC. Meanwhile, it’s been a minute since Kroeger last fired back at his “rival,” possibly because he’s realized that neither he, nor Taylor, are actually very good at finding witty ways to tell people off. That, or he’s simply left it to his designated second, Avril Lavigne, to defend his honor on the field of verbal battle.
