Court makes room for "fleeting expletives" on TV
Broadcasters might now be safe from FCC fines when a "shit" or "fuck" randomly slips out on live TV. A federal court ruled yesterday that the FCC's rules against "fleeting expletives"—tightened after assorted award-show slips by Bono, Cher, and Nicole Richie—are arbitrary and unjustified. The ruling does give the FCC another chance to rewrite the rules, but should you end up on live TV any time soon, make a point to "accidentally" let some shit fly, just to spite those pricks.
