Courteney Cox would like a Friends movie now, please

What with the girls from Sex And The City—and possibly the ciphers from Entourage—proving that there’s no underestimating how many people will pay to see feature-film versions of shows they’ve already watched for years and years, Courteney Cox has said that she wants to get in on that action with a big-screen Friends movie. However, while she believes Jennifer Aniston has a “great idea” for a film that would reunite the characters from the long-running sitcom (Who wants to bet that it involves a somber examination of how the group was affected by the events of 9/11? Or babies. Lots and lots of babies), Cox acknowledges that it may not work out, since “the characters from Sex And The City hopped all over Manhattan. On Friends, we were always stuck in the apartment and that coffeehouse”—and unfortunately, those bards and spinners of yarns capable of moving characters into new, unexplored settings have long since passed into the ether. She also says flat out, “I don’t think it’s going to happen,” admitting that while she and the other cast members have “daydreamed about it,” “a lot of things would have to break just right for it to work.” We remain cautiously optimistic that she’s right.
