Courtney Love’s isolated guitar and vocals sound about like you’d expect

Posting isolated tracks has become a booming Internet business of late, playing to our innate human desire to take the things we love and tear them to pieces. From these we have learned that The Beatles could really sing and all that bouncing around stage makes Taylor Swift sing just okay; today we have another bias confirmed in the form of Courtney Love’s isolated guitar and vocal tracks. Recorded during a 2010 show at New York club Don Hill’s by a man named J.M. Ladd, the band’s rendition of “Celebrity Skin” sounds… well, not like this in its full-audio form. But as Death And Taxes points out, singling out Love’s, let’s say, aloof approach to playing her out-of-tune guitar resembles one of those mock YouTube “shreds” videos.

Nevertheless, Ladd insists it’s genuine. “To address the most obvious, inevitable question that I will be asked…this is not fake. Whether you think she’s the worst or this just makes her all the more ‘punk rock’ is for you to decide,” Ladd writes in his description. “I’m merely presenting the facts as they are. Make of them what you will.” Probably don’t make them into a CD for anyone, however.
