Courtney Love would like to be known as "Courtney Michelle" now, please

The path to redemption is an arduous one—doubly so when you’ve done as many things that would necessitate redemption as Courtney Love. But rather than go through the hassle of ridding her name of all its attendant baggage—drugs, rehab, trading off her dead husband's legacy, losing custody of her daughter, etc. etc., and everything else we haven’t yet but someday will plug into the “Courtney Love macro” we just used to generate all that—Love has figured out a shortcut: She’ll just become someone else. From now on, Courtney Love asks that you refer to her as “Courtney Michelle,” because she says, “The name ‘Courtney Love’ is a way to oppress me.” Did you know that every time you've referred to her as “Courtney Love,” you’ve participated in her oppression? Well, no more! Along with calling her by her new moniker—which she says is in honor of her birth name, Courtney Michelle Harrison, given to her by the estranged father who accused her of arranging her husband's murder—she would also like it if you would never, ever ask her about Kurt Cobain again, thanks:

"I am not his spokesperson on Earth," she said. "I don't know what he'd be like now, he could be into society girls, he could be into fat girls, he could be homosexual. We don't know, he died at 27."

So if all of you could just go ahead and forget about the fact that Kurt Cobain ever married some “Courtney Love” person (“Courtney Love who?” Exactly), that would be great. Together we can stop the oppression.
