Crazy & The Brains throw a paint-filled punk rock party for a new video

It’s becoming customary for bands starting out with modest folk-punk set-ups to expand in size and sound as they move forward. New York City’s Crazy & The Brains has expanded its line-up, and on 2013’s Let Me Go the four-piece took the image of an early-’90s Rancid and imbued it with the joyous sonic qualities of a circus, as its lighthearted nature forgoes the often destructive, nihilistic senses that so much punk still carries. In the video for “Say My Name,” which The A.V. Club is premiering below, the band band proudly displays its gutter-punk aesthetic, even if its members opt to chase balloons and throw paint at one another, adding a little bit of brightness to their all-black, pyramid-studded look.
